Parenting Can Wait Mentoring

During and after the 13-week curriculum, the facilitators will act as mentors for the participants. The mentoring component of Parenting Can Wait will offer tutoring, life skills trainings and coaching that may be delivered through one on one mentoring sessions with teen participants with identified barriers or peer group sessions. The goal of mentoring is to educate and motivate young adults and teen parents to become successful adults by providing them with independent living skills. The Parenting Can Wait program also intends to utilize and build upon existing Division of Youth Services (DYS) mentoring contracts to provide additional mentoring services for DYS facilities.
